Whether you’re moving to a different community, starting a new job, or, like us here at M2W2, changing computer systems, a fresh start can be exciting. It’s an opportunity to apply our knowledge and experience to do something better or make something stronger, more effective. It’s a chance to follow a different path from the get-go.
But what if we don’t make the most of our fresh start? What if we slip into old habits? What if we make a mistake?
Thankfully, our faith can be a powerful reminder that our mistakes don’t define us. In fact, it’s one of the most amazing parts of following Jesus Christ. Through faith, we receive God’s mercy and forgiveness, and that’s sufficient to carry us whenever we fall short.
Peter writes, “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil, or fade.”
Wherever you are, we hope these words inspire you. Regardless of our mistakes, we can celebrate God’s mercy and live life knowing that our fresh start in Jesus can never “perish, spoil, or fade.”
We invite you to join us in prayer this month. Click here to download our October 2023 prayer calendar.
Thank you for partnering with us as we share God’s hope with people whose lives have been altered by incarceration.
