Volunteer
Volunteers are at the Heart of Mentoring
Volunteers can serve in one of four areas:
-
Mentor individuals inside correctional institutions.
Volunteers at federal institutions need to complete Correctional Services Canada (CSC) application forms, fingerprinting, and CSC training.
Volunteers at provincial institutions need to complete a Criminal Record Check and prison orientation.
-
Support community reintegration for formerly incarcerated persons.
Volunteers in our NOLA community reintegration program must watch a 45-minute video and complete a short test. After completing the volunteer application process, we will send you a link to the video and test.
-
Help out in the store, working alongside persons on parole or work release.
-
Lend your skills to our new mechanical/woodworking training hub.
In addition to filling out an application form, you will need to complete:
A volunteer interview
Statement of Confidentiality
Two personal reference checks
